October 28, 2026Wedding Car Checklist for Islamabad: Baraat Cars, Convoys and Guest Transport
Wedding transport in Islamabad and Rawalpindi needs more planning than most families expect: the baraat car, the family convoy, guests flying in, and shuttles between hotels and the marquee or farmhouse. This checklist covers what to book, when to book it and what to ask.
1. Decide what each event needs
- Mehndi: cars for close family, often in the evening at a home or farmhouse.
- Baraat: the groom’s car plus a convoy for the family — many families choose a Toyota Prado for the groom.
- Walima: guest transport between hotels and the venue, and airport drops for out-of-town relatives.
2. Book early in wedding season
November to March and the weeks after Eid are the busiest months. Prados and matching sedans for convoys are often booked weeks in advance, so confirm vehicles as soon as your dates are fixed.
3. Plan guest transport, not just the groom’s car
Guests arriving from Lahore, Karachi or abroad need airport pickups and rides to their hotel. A Hiace or Coaster running a loop between hotels and the venue keeps everyone on time and avoids parking chaos at the marquee.
4. Questions to ask your car rental company
- Is the price fixed, and does it include driver, fuel and waiting time?
- Can you supply several matching cars for the convoy?
- Will the driver be dressed smartly and arrive early for photos?
- Can we decorate the car, and who arranges the flowers?
- What happens if the function runs late?
5. Day-of-wedding tips
- Share one timeline with pickup points and a contact person for each car.
- Keep the venue location pin ready — farmhouses can be hard to find at night.
- Arrange return transport before dinner is served.
